I'm a Dutch weaver, knitter, spinner, lacemaker and love anything that has to do with fiber and yarn. And of course I like to read books, magazines, newspapers.

Since this month I'm a member of the 'Monthly Dishcloth' group. This is the MidFebruary project. A slip stitch pattern in two colours. I used yarn from my grandmother's stash and so it has been waiting for years to be used. The needles could have been a size smaller, but now the cloth is nice and flexible.
The number of bobbins on my piece has grown a lot: there are more than 100 now. The work is progressing slowly, but at least it goes forward now! I'm nearly half way.

When I've finished doing the lace I want to weave some cloth to attach the lace to. Probably it will be gold coloured cotton 34/2 and silk. I can buy what I need next Saturday, when the new Dutch weavers organisation will officially start, with a meeting and other activities that have to do with weaving, like a small market. For this event 300 people have booked, a nice start!

So now and then there is time to spin. Here some more Clun Forest with different colours silk. The effect of the different colours is less than it looked like on the bobbin. The undyed wool is Romney, very soft and beautiful

Natuurlijk vordert de SSS sjaal ook. Ik heb al zes clues af en de sjaal ziet er nu zo uit.

Of course the SSS shawl is growing, too. I have finished six clues and this is what it looks like now.

Wow, you've been busy. I know what you mean about blogging taking up a lot of time. Sometimes it's hard to balance it with doing the fibery things we love.

Thanks so much for the helpful comment about sewing my dishtowels. Very much appreciated!
