Markt bij de molen

Craft market near the windmill.


Na een paar donkere, druilerige dagen was het zondag mooi weer. We konden dus naar de markt aan de voet van de mooiste molen van Noord-Holland (volgens een onderzoek van de krant), De Hoop in Wervershoof.

After a few dull and dreary, wet days, the weather was better on Sunday. So we could go to the craft market at the foot of the most beautiful windmill of the province (according to a survey held by the regional newspaper), the almost local windmill De Hoop in Wervershoof.

 Een heel Hollands plaatje, met een zeer Hollandse lucht.

 Het was meteen al gezellig druk bij de kraampjes.

From the start there were quite a few people present.

 Natuurlijk moest ik even kijken bij een andere leerling van onze kantklosschool. Zij had zich op het maken van waaiers gestort. Zag er mooi uit!

Of course I had to have a look at the work of one of the other pupils of our lace school. She had specialised in making fans. Looked nice!

Dit had ik nog nergens anders gezien: iemand die kunstwerken maakte van groente en fruit. Hier van een watermeloen, een appel, worteltjes enz. Kunstig hoor.

I saw this nowhere before: a person who made art from vegetables and fruit. Here a watermelon, an apple, carrots and more. Well done!

De fanfare had gezorgd voor sfeervolle muziek en marcheerde hier weer af. Kleuren hun jasjes niet mooi bij de roosjes?

These musicians had made music from the start and are leaving here. Aren't their jackets nice in combination with the roses?

Aan de overkant van de weg vertrokkken anderen met hun bootje. Alweer een Hollands beeld.
