A few more WIPs
Last time I didn't mention my lacework. But I do spend every day some (a lot of) time working on this scarf, which I started for the show I went to in Medemblik and which I wrote about some time ago. I wound linen on the bobbins, that was meant for weaving, long ago, but I thought it might be nice fot this scarf in Flanders lace as well. Finally a piece in Flanders which I can see. Yet it isn't really simple, because the linen doesn't 'slide' very well and pulling the threads isn't easy. No doubt some bumps here and there will be left.
Flandrische Spitze im Aufbruch) laat zien, wat het moet gaan worden. Zo ongeveer. Het boek vind ik heel fijn om uit te werken.
Do you recognise the pattern? It is supposed to be an octopus. The photo also shows, what it's going to look like. More or less. Picture and pattern are from a book of the German lace organisation and is called Flandrische Spitze im Aufbruch I love working from this book.
hier.
For a long time I've had my eyes on the 'Zauberball', a wool by Schoppel Wolle, and beautiful. But I had no idea what to do with this yarn, which changes colour very slowly. Then I saw 'Wingspan'. Examples you can see here Of course I had to cast on right away and soon decided, that I needed another 100 gr. ball, also after discussing this with a few SnB knitting friends in Hoorn. Now a second ball is waiting, so that the shawl will be big enough. It is a great project to knit on when you have to be a carpassenger on long rides!
The first colours of the dyed wool have been spun.
The sleeve of my cardi. Both sleeves are done now and all parts are being blocked at the moment, waiting till I can sew it all together. Of course this pattern took far more yarn than the cardi I frogged, so I had to spin more mohair and longwool, and ply them together - a whole big bobbin full. Then I could knit on again...
Het leven hier blijft bedrijvig. Er is meer te doen dan er tijd is.
Life here is always busy. There is far more I can do than the time that I've got.
