Wit

Meestal is het kerst en nog niet wit van de sneeuw, dit jaar is het wit en nog geen kerst. Ach ja, verschil moet er zijn.
Vannacht zag ik het al: het dakraam was volledig ondoorzichtig van alle sneeuw, dus ik was niet al te verbaasd toen ik de gordijnen van de slaapkamer opendeed en dit zag:

Most years it is Christmas and not yet white with snow, this year it's white with snow and not yet Chritmas. Different. I saw it when I went to bed last night: our attic window couldn't be looked through because there was too much snow on it. Therefore I wasn.t too surprised when I opened the bedroom curtains and saw this:

Beneden was ons uitzicht door de tuindeuren ook heel erg besneeuwd.
Downstairs the view from the French windows was pretty snowy as well

Kleurenfoto's van de voortuin werden ook zwartwit-foto's. Hoefde je niets voor te doen!

 Morgen schijnt er nog meer sneeuw te komen. Een goede gelegenheid om verder te gaan met het opzetten van mijn weefgetouw. Vandaag heb ik de laatste acht schachten van mijn Megado getouw van hevels voorzien. Tot nu toe gebruikte ik 'slechts' 24 schachten, nu ga ik alle 32 schachten gebruiken. Ik ga theedoeken van katoen weven, en omdat schijnpatronen me blijven boeien, maak ik nu een weefsel met rozerood en wit, van ieder 8 draden afwisselend. Rechte inrijg op 32 schachten. Ook de schering is vandaag gehaspeld.


Tomorrow more snow is expected. A good opportunity to carry on dressing my loom. Today I put heddles on shaft 25-32 of my Megado loom. Until now I 'only' used 24 shafts, but now I'm going to use all 32. Because colour-and-weave patterns keep intriguing me I'm now going to weave teatowles, in red/pink and white, 8 ends of each alternating. Straight draw on 32 shafts. Today I made the warp as well.
