Provence

Na een paar mooie dagen in april volgde weer het gebruikelijke grijze, koude en natte type. We hadden er genoeg van en bespraken een huisje op de camping in de Provence, waar we graag zijn. Vrij onverwacht dus, vandaar mijn vorige mail, die misschien voor sommigen een beetje raadselachtig was.

After a few nice days in April the weather changed back to the usual grey, cold and wet type. We had had enough of that and decided to book a cottage on the campsite in the Provence where we love to be. It was rather unecpected, so for some people my last message here, from the hotel, was a bit enigmatic.


Maar hier een paar foto's, zoals beloofd. Met korte beschrijvingen.

But, as promised, a few pictures here. With short descriptions.

De Mas, waar alle aktiviteiten zich afspelen op de camping. Gewoonlijk de warmste plek op de camping, maar dit jaar was het zelfs hier vrij koud.

The Mas, or the main building, where all activity is on the campsite. Usually the warmest spot of the site, but this year it was pretty cold even here..

Hetzelfde gebouw, uit de verte. Om drie uur verzamelen de boule spelers zich hier. Iedere middag weer. Er is een prachtige boulebaan, maar het pad voor de Mas speelt toch leuker.

The same building from the distance. Each afternoon bouleplayers assemble in front. Three o'clock sharp. There is a perfect boule court, but the path in front of the Mas is nicer.

In deze tijd van het jaar zie je tijdens de wandelingen weer andere dingen dan in september.

In this time of the year we saw during our walks different things than in September.

Dappere kleine bloem, maar vergeleken met de maagdenpalm naast ons eigen huis hier in Nederland wel heel groot!

Tot zover een impressie van ons korte bezoek aan Frankrijk. We zijn inmiddels alweer bijna een week thuis! Hier is het ook koud (minder dan in Franrijk) en nat, maar ach, we doen het er maar mee. Goed weer om te breien, te spinnen, te weven... Volgende keer weer meer daarover. Denk ik.

So far an impression of our short stay in France. We've almost een home for a week now! It's also cold here (although less so than in France) and wet, but well, we'll have to take it as it comes. It's the right weather to knit, spin, weave... More about that a next time. I think.
