Nog (weer) thuis

Still (again) at home.

When I wrote in the message before this that I wouldn't be near a computer for a few weeks, I already felt unsure and had some premonitions.
We intended to go to the south of France again, to enjoy the last warm sunny days of this late summer. Here it was grey, wet, sombre and cold.
We booked a cottage, hotels for the drive up and down, packed our suitcases. And then things went wrong. The evening before we were going to leave and had done everything for that, I started to bleed heavily. We had to go to the hospital, because it was already six o'clock and our doctor's practice was closed for the day.
The doctor on duty was shocked by the hight of my blood pressure. He tried to contact a specialist, but it was hours before he was successful. I was allowed to go home, with a box of pills and the promise, that I would go to my own doctor first thing in the mornng.

Onzekerheid is altijd nogal vervelend.

Our GP sent me straight back to hospital. There I spent another day and got all kind of tests. It looked as if I'd have to stay in hospital, but in the end I was allowed to go home again. Appointments to see many different specialists had been made for me.
The first one was last Friday (another day in a hospitalbed) and many will follow.
Thus my holiday destination was suddenly completely different. Not much fun. Incertitude is always a bad thing. The pills (I got more again) seem to help, but I'm not in the mood to do much. I play Farm Ville on Facebook, which somehow cheers me up (I could use a few more 'neighbours' ;-)).
No doubt I'll write in my blog so now and then, but it may take a while as well. For the moment I take it easy as much as possible.

Annie...I'm so sorry that you are ill!! And even worse that it's supposed to be your vacation.

Hope you feel better soon and that you get another chance at a holiday get away.

Oh Annie, I'm so so sorry to learn of your illness - hope your doc has found the underlying cause by now. I guess the silver lining is that it didn't occur after you had left - you're under the care of a physician you know and trust. Please update us as you're able - saying prayers for you~
